The Sunday Salon: Reading Litblogs

This Sunday I dedicate to the blogs of other Saloners. There are blogs, unfortunatelly, I haven’t visited since weeks, because of my busy days recently.

But I’ll make up for that this Sunday.

Reading the litblogs the first thing I strike, bloggers are preparing for the different reading challenges 2009. I also found some interesting ones, like the The Decades Challenge 09, or the German Reading Challenge. Although this blog tries to focus on the Hungarian literature, or my place in the community of Hungarian writers, writing about German literature fits to the profile of this blog, there are some German and Austrian writers, who’s works had a big influence on several Hungarian novels. For example the books of Thomas Bernhard and Peter Handke.

Challenges are something new in my life, and I really enjoy it. I tried to organize my own among Hungarian litblogs, about short stories, but unfortunately other bloggers found this idea strange and didn’t understand what is it for. Maybe it is still something strange here, bloggers can form a community, or I don’t know, what was the problem.

It was a bad experience for me.

But now, fellow Saloners, back to your blogs, I really enjoy to read them, and a good exercise to make my English better and better. (This will be a neverending story, I know.)

Happy reading!

ps: As I noticed, the new template caused some problems in the older posts, sorry, I try to correct it.

I like to set my own challenges and most of them are perpetual. I'm working on reading books from around the world and award winning books primarily.

Challenges are fun.
